Launch of Atelier Artiforte lighting brand
Somewhere in 2019, David Derksen started to dream of a new lighting brand that would bring the best contemporary lighting designs from the best lighting designers from the Netherlands. He believed that there were some very talented designers around that deserve an international audience. While it remains sometimes impossibly difficult and slow to work with 'the big brands, he wanted to take the initiative himself.
Realising that this could only have a chance in collaboration with partners, he found Remco van der Voort (Voort agency), Cindy Verhoeven (Spectrum) and Titus Darley (RSGA Design) enthusiastic about the idea. Soon the plan changed, and they decided together to also bring some modern classic lighting designs back into production and in this way to complement the collection.
The best modern classic, as well as contemporary lighting design is what Atelier Artiforte is about.
Atelier Artiforte is started out at Object Rotterdam with 2 completely re-developed modern classics, the TC6 by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar and the K46 floor lamp by Kho Liang Ie. The collection will grow soon with lights from contemporary designers Rachel Griffin, Rick Tegelaar and David Derksen.
